This day we went from Wuxi to Nanjing. I don't remember much, but according to the itinerary we went to a Pearl Factory first (aka Pearl JEWELRY store for some shopping). I actually didn't mind the jewelry stores that much as it was fun to look at all the jewelry for a bit. Then we also went to a "Teapot Museum" which really was a museum that we quickly walked through and ended up in a room where they showed us different types of hand made tea sets. The sets were lovely and not as expensive as I thought they would be, but we had absolutely no room (or need) to bring a tea set home! Joseph did get a nice insulated tea bottle though.
We then drove to Nanjing and got to see the outside of its city wall. They dropped us off at a lovely park and Joseph and I walked to the Sun Yat Sen memorial. No one wanted to walk it with us as it was far so Joseph and I went by ourselves while they watched Maddie and got ice cream. It was a long straight, flat path and we thought "this isn't so bad" but then we went around a building and saw tons of stairs leading up to his actual memorial! No wonder they didn't want to come with us! I only made it up about 1/3 of the way but Joseph went all the way up.
We were on our own for dinner this evening. They dropped us off at a famous food strip market where we were able to walk around and get various foods from different vendors. We then hopped back on the bus to get to the hotel.
