Christmas Cookies with the Basques!

On Sunday morning I took both kids (by myself!) over to our friends house to decorate some Christmas cookies!  Maddie had a blast, she loved using the different decorations to make cookies. She made one for herself and one for Joseph. But most of all, she loved eating all the different kinds of sprinkles! She also had a fun time playing with Lily and Simon! This has become somewhat of a tradition for us and our friends, and we love it!

I LOVE Maddie's cheesy smile in this picture. She's so happy because she is eating a bowl of sprinkles!

Crochet Bunny for Emily's 1st Birthday

I made a crochet bunny for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday!  I made it in about 4 days, the quickest I have ever made anything like this from start to finish.

I asked Maddie to hold the bunny for a photo, she did not seem too interested in it. I was actually happy about that as I had to wrap it up shortly after taking these photos!

Video: Kissing Crochet Bunny, Dada, and Mama

I crocheted a very large bunny for a friend's daughter's 1st birthday. I showed it to Maddie to see what she thought of it.  She really seemed to like it as she kept pointing out all his features and loved playing with his ears. She kept giving it kisses and hugs. I grabbed my phone a bit late but got the tail end of her giving the bunny kisses, and she was in such a lovey mood she wanted to give both Dada and Mama the sweetest kisses.

I think I'll have to make another bunny now for my friend!

Little Monster for Julie's Baby Shower

Our good friend Julie is having a baby boy in August! Her nursery theme is "Little Monster" so for her baby shower I crocheted a Little Monster doll in her nursery colors. I love the way it turned out!  I wanted to get a picture of Maddie with it but when I asked her to hold it she kept backing away and saying "no".

I made this "monster" fruit salad

Otto's First Birthday Party!

This past Saturday we went to our friend Otto's home to celebrate his 1st birthday!  It was a Kentucky Derby themed party so we got all dressed up in semi-matching outfits!  It was windy so instead of hats I made us matching little yellow flower hair clips.

We got him a book called Otto Has A Birthday Party and I have recently picked up crocheting again, and I crocheted him a matching Otto doll.  I am very proud of it!

It was such a fun party!  There was lots to eat and lots of toys to play with. They even had .... wait for it ... PONY RIDES!!  They had not one, but two ponies!  Pictures hopefully to follow as Otto's Dad took them on his camera.  Maddie seemed interested in the ponies but really did not want to ride on one. I had to hold her while she squired to get off of the pony.  They also had lots of bubble toys and Maddie soaked herself playing with all the liquid.

We had a lovely time. Happy Birthday Otto!!
