Video: Maddie talks about Purim

At dinner tonight, all of a sudden Maddie was talking about Haman and saying "BOO" and Queen Esther and saying "YAY!" I remembered she learned about Purim at school and she was telling us about it!  I took a quick video because she's so cute and serious about the story!  Before I was able to take the video, she said "I'm Jewish. You're (daddy) Jewish and you're (mommy) Jewish."

She says:
When you hear the name Haman you say "BOO" because he HURT the Jewish people.
Queen Esther's nice! When you hear Queen Esther you say "YAY!" because she saved the Jewish people. She took them to another house.

Happy Chinese New Year 2018!

Before James was born, my cousin Rachel gifted us this cute Chinese Boys outfit! It is a size 2 for a 2 year old. But guess what?  Our "little" 5 month old guy fits this outfit almost perfectly! The legs are a little long but it fits his torso just right!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

My cousin gave us this cute Chinese outfit for James before he was born, I didn't think he would fit into it until he was at least a year old as it was a child size (the smallest she could get) but I was wrong!  The top fit him just right in the tummy (the sleeves a little long), and the pants fit around his waist and the elastic was even a little tight! The legs were also long, but wow, he fit into it pretty well!

I decided the perfect time to wear it would be to celebrate Chinese New Year!! Maddie had pajama day at school so I wasn't able to dress her up today.

Excited for Valentine's Day!

Last night (Monday night) after dinner, Maddie and I prepared Valentine's Day gift bags for her classmates!  Maddie was very excited!  She decorated each card and said who she was going to give it to, then we made the gift bags. Maddie did about half of them all by herself! She made a gift bag for herself and got all the extra items. She didn't want to part with it so brought it up to her room for the night.

When she woke up this morning, she was hoping it was Valentine's Day (Wednesday) but it is only Tuesday! She said she was tired and wanted to go back to sleep and said "When I wake up, it will be Valentine's Day?"  Adorable!!

James Monthly Photo (5 Month)

James is 5 months today!! Time is flying by and he is getting bigger and bigger every day!  He currently weighs about 22.5 pounds!

He's sitting up by himself pretty well but still topples over. He loves to sit up and doesn't like to lay flat for very long. He is rolling over from tummy to back every day, but only in the mornings for some reason!  He still hasn't rolled from back to tummy but he is very close!  He has discovered his feet and loves pulling his socks, so it keeps him from getting into the best rolling position.

We started solid foods a little while ago and (at the time of this post 2/22) he has had oatmeal, avocado, peas, butternut squash, and green beans!  He seems to like all of it!

Maddie's Sticker Art

After dinner Maddie sat down with a blank sheet of paper and some car stickers and made a really nice piece of art! She lined the cars up all on her own, she was so proud of this! And afterwards she got some big tickles from Dad!
