May 2018 - Road Trip to Tulsa to see Family
We took a road trip down to Tulsa to see family! We left on Thursday 5/17 and wanted to make the trip in 1 day. We brought Maddie to school in the morning so she could work some energy off and also so Joseph could pack the car. We picked her up from school and really hoped both kids would nap in the car on the way... Unfortunately Maddie did not nap but we quite content to do activities and watch shows on the iPad. James did not take his second nap until about 5pm and then napped only about 45 minutes. He was also quite good though on the trip. We made the trip in about 12 hours which included all of our stops.
We enjoyed ourselves in Tulsa and got to visit with family. Most importantly we got to see Nana Mary Ellen one last time.
We headed back home on Sunday late morning and made it back to Chicago in 11 hours. This time we made more frequent stops but they were shorter in duration.
Lots of pictures from our trip below and a little video of James playing with Grandpa.

Mother's Day 2018
We went over to see Pau Pau and Bak Bak on Mother's Day! We picked up lunch on the way over. We haven't seen Bak Bak in a very long time! James was a little grumpy and did not really enjoy the visit so he looks a bit sad in these pictures. We were able to get a picture of 4 generations of family!
| We didn't realize Maddie had candy in her mouth during this picture. |

Visiting Bak Bak!
We had an unseasonably warm day (in the low 40s!) and haven't seen Bak Bak in forever, so we drove the entire family down to Chinatown to visit! Bak Bak loved seeing both kids and was amazed at how big they both had gotten in just a couple of months! Afterwards we walked to a nearby restaurant for some lunch (and both kids were great!) and stopped off at the park on the way home.

Christmas Dinner 2017
For Christmas dinner, we headed to Chinatown to spend the evening with my extended family! My cousin who moved to Hong Kong was back for the holidays with her husband. There are a total of 8 grandchildren of my generation on my mom's side, and we had 6 of the 8 of us under one roof! The other 2 are overseas.
Maddie had a lot of fun playing with her cousin Emilie, and everyone loved watching and holding James. We had a yummy Christmas dinner, followed by gifts for the kids.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Christmas Morning 2017
Merry Christmas!!! Maddie was SO excited this morning! For the past couple of weeks we have been talking about Christmas. We told her that on Christmas morning, there would be lots of presents underneath the tree for her to open! She had the best time opening up presents and even helping James open his presents. We ended the morning by relaxing with some cartoons!
| Maddie was SO excited to receive this Raven plush doll. She gave it the sweetest hugs and kisses! |
