James Monthly Photo (6 Month)

James is 6 months old!! Current weight 22 lbs 13 oz, and 28.5 inches long!

He has started to roll over consistently and effortlessly every time he's on the floor. He's even started to roll over while he sleeps which is scary when he's face down in the mattress!

We are giving him solids more than once a day, starting with lunch and we will start to give him breakfast soon too.

Here is Maddie's 6 month picture for comparison. He is about 4.5 pounds heavier than Maddie was at 6 months!  They are about the same height.

James 6 Month Doctor's Visit

We went in for James's 6 month well visit this morning!

Official stats:
Weight = 22 pounds 13 ounces (99th percentile)
Height = 28.5" (99th percentile!)
Head circumference = 45.00 cm (90th percentile)

He is a big proportioned baby, the doctor said the size of a 1 year old!

He did very well and didn't much at all. He was great for the doctor's exam and she didn't have any concerns. He's hitting his milestones on time, if not early!

He got another round of shots today, 2 in one leg and 1 in the other as well as an oral vaccine. The nurse said he really seemed to like the vaccine, she said it tastes like sugar water!  I turned away while Joseph held James for his 3 shots. I was waiting for a loud cry but all I heard was a little yelp and it was over! Joseph said he didn't cry until the last shot! What a champ!

James Monthly Photo (5 Month)

James is 5 months today!! Time is flying by and he is getting bigger and bigger every day!  He currently weighs about 22.5 pounds!

He's sitting up by himself pretty well but still topples over. He loves to sit up and doesn't like to lay flat for very long. He is rolling over from tummy to back every day, but only in the mornings for some reason!  He still hasn't rolled from back to tummy but he is very close!  He has discovered his feet and loves pulling his socks, so it keeps him from getting into the best rolling position.

We started solid foods a little while ago and (at the time of this post 2/22) he has had oatmeal, avocado, peas, butternut squash, and green beans!  He seems to like all of it!

James Monthly Photo (4 Month)

James is 4 months today! We went to the doctor for his 4 month check up and vaccines.

Stats:
Height: 26.25" tall - 90th percentile
Weight: 19 lbs 13 oz - 99th percentile!!

Maddie 2 year appt & James 2 month appt

We took both kids in today for their well visits. Maddie had her 3 year old appointment and James had his 2 year old appointment and very first round of vaccines.

The nurse we saw was so great! She was amazing with Maddie and even took her into her office with her while James got his shots! James took his shots like a champ as well, he nursed afterwards and was fine the rest of the day!

Here are their updated stats:

Maddie - 3 years old:
Height: 39.0 inches, 86th percentile
Weight: 32 pounds (forgot the # of oz), 65th percentile

James - 2 months old:
Height: 24.0 inches - 95th percentile
Weight: 15 lbs 3 oz - 95th percentile

James 1 Month Doctor's Appointment

James went in for this 1 month well visit today. He did great! Luckily no shots this time but he will get 4 shots at his 2 month visit!

Stats:
Weight: 12 lbs 4 oz! 97th percentile
Length: 22.5 inches, 85th percentile
Head circumference: 39 cm, 97th percentile

James 2 Week Doctor's Appointment

James went in for his 2 Week well visit today and again checked out perfectly.

Stats:
Weight: 9 lbs 10 oz, 85th percentile. 
Length: 21.5 inches long, 85th percentile
Head circumference: 38 centimeters, 97th percentile

James 1 Week Doctor's Appointment

On Monday, we took both James and Maddie to the doctors. James had his 1 week appointment and we brought Maddie in to get her flu shot.

This was the first time in the car with both kids and Maddie LOVED having James sit next to her in the car!

James checked out perfectly!

Stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 6.5 ounces, about the 85th percentile. He was down only 0.5 ounces from birth weight already! I wasn't sure if he was getting enough milk, but he definitely has been!
Length: 21.0 inches long, 85th percentile
Head circumference: 37 centimeters, also 85th percentile

Maddie knew ahead of time she was going to get a shot. We told her it might hurt and might tickle a little bit, but that she would get a cool bandage afterwards and also a special treat!  Joseph sat with her and helped hold her leg down a bit as the nurse got the shot ready. He tried to distract Maddie by having her look anywhere but at the needle, but she looked right at it as it went into her leg! She just said a little "ow" but then was perfectly fine!  She got a surprise blue lollipop as a treat for taking her shot like a champ! We dropped her off at daycare after the appointment and she proudly told everyone she got a shot (almost dropped her pants to show them her bandage) and stuck out her tongue to show everyone her blue tongue and said "aaaahhhh!" All the other kids then stuck out their tongues and said "aaahhhh!"
