This past Saturday we drove out to Toyota Park for a Chicago Fire Soccer game! The weather was lovely (in fact it was TOO hot). We actually got there on time for the start of the game! Unfortunately we stood in the security line and missed a good chunk of the beginning of the game. We snagged some seats and ate lots of french fries and snacks. At the beginning of the second half we went over to the other side of the stadium for some much needed shade and got some ice cream!
We stayed for the end of the game then headed to the parking lot so beat the traffic out of the parking lot. Maddie wanted to wander off on her own and was getting in everyone's way so Joseph picked her up to carry her the rest of the way. You see that did NOT go well!
In all a good day, and I forgot, the Fire won 1-0!

Busy Weekend! Chicago Fire and Chicago Bulls Games
We had a very busy weekend! Maddie turned 6 months on Saturday! It was also the first day she slept on her belly - twice! Once for naptime and then during the night. For the past few nights, she has been turning and rolling in her sleep multiple times, which has been waking her up and resulting in cranky parents who have to soothe her back to sleep. So we decided to try to keep her on her belly, and it worked! She slept around 4 hours before waking for her overnight feeding.
On Saturday afternoon, we went with Gary and Mayela to watch the Chicago Fire Soccer Team play. It was $2 hot dog day! It was a bit of a dreary day but luckily it did not rain. Maddie did get fussy and I had to find a "quiet" part of the stadium for a quick cat nap. Afterwards she was in good spirits. The Fire lost the match, 2 to 1.
Sunday was Mother's Day (will be a separate post)! We had lunch with Pau Pau and Uncle Jeff, and afterwards we went to the United Center to watch Game 4 of the Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers Playoff game! Joseph warned me it would be loud, and wow was he right! Thankfully we had the baby hearing protectors and Maddie did not seem to notice. Maddie got super fussy towards the end of the third quarter and again I went to find a quiet place for a cat nap. The Bulls tied it up at the end of the game with 1.5 seconds left! Unfortunately Lebron James hit a 2 pointer and the Bulls lost by 2 points! We were 0 for 2 this weekend for watching games.
When we got home, we gave Maddie a quick bath, a large bottle and she quickly fell asleep afterwards. We are hoping for a peaceful night tonight!
