James Monthly Photo (12 Months / 1 Year)
James is 1 year old today!! He's about 28 lbs (down about a pound from last month). Still not walking but likes to "walk" with assistance back and forth between Mom and Dad. He can come up to a full upright stand all on his own and can stand for quite a long time (about 30 seconds) before sitting or leaning down. He is starting to dislike pureed baby foods and spits out certain textures. This morning he at an entire whole peeled apple at breakfast all by himself!

James Monthly Photo (11 Month)
At the blink of an eye, James is 11 months old!! He's been pulling himself up to standing and cruises along furniture now too! He loves to pull things off of tables and chairs, and empty the bookshelves. He has a little blue plastic chair that he also loves to climb in and out of. He will be walking very soon! He still only has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) and still loves to eat pretty much everything!

James Monthly Photo (10 Month)
James is 10 months old!! He's still crawling like a champ and has been pulling himself up to nearly an upright standing position as well! He loves to stand but tends to complain after standing too long because he doesn't know how to get back down! He has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) and absolutely loves to eat!

James Monthly Photo (9 Month)
James is 9 months old!! Time sure does fly quickly! He's about 26.5 pounds. We have a doctor's appointment on Friday so will get his official grown stats then. He started to crawl about 3 weeks ago just before we went on vacation and he is crawling around so quickly now!! He gets around so fast and will sit himself up once he gets to his intended target.

James Monthly Photo (7 Month)
James is 7 months old!! Current weight is about 24.5 pounds, so he is gained about 1.5 pounds in just a month!!
He's still rolling over all the time and will now actually make a 360 degree turn on his tummy to find a new toy! He's able to sit up by himself for minutes at a time before falling over. If he falls backwards, he gets frightened and starts to cry. But if he falls on his back or side, he will immediately roll over onto his tummy and continue chomping on a toy.
Once he does fall over, he either gets frightened and cries, or turns over right away.

James Monthly Photo (6 Month)
James is 6 months old!! Current weight 22 lbs 13 oz, and 28.5 inches long!
He has started to roll over consistently and effortlessly every time he's on the floor. He's even started to roll over while he sleeps which is scary when he's face down in the mattress!
We are giving him solids more than once a day, starting with lunch and we will start to give him breakfast soon too.
Here is Maddie's 6 month picture for comparison. He is about 4.5 pounds heavier than Maddie was at 6 months! They are about the same height.

James Monthly Photo (5 Month)
James is 5 months today!! Time is flying by and he is getting bigger and bigger every day! He currently weighs about 22.5 pounds!
He's sitting up by himself pretty well but still topples over. He loves to sit up and doesn't like to lay flat for very long. He is rolling over from tummy to back every day, but only in the mornings for some reason! He still hasn't rolled from back to tummy but he is very close! He has discovered his feet and loves pulling his socks, so it keeps him from getting into the best rolling position.
We started solid foods a little while ago and (at the time of this post 2/22) he has had oatmeal, avocado, peas, butternut squash, and green beans! He seems to like all of it!

2 Years and 3 Months Photo
Maddie came into our room after nap time and climbed into the red chair we used to take her monthly photos so I tried to get some pictures similar to those. Not entirely successful but still cute!

18 Months Old!!
Maddie turned 18 months old yesterday!! We went to the doctor's today for her 18 month check up appointment. This time it was just a check up, NO shots! We waited about 20 minutes in the waiting room but she did great, she mainly loved climbing up and down the big ottoman in the middle of the waiting room. There was more waiting inside the room after the nurse took her measurements. She loved running the length of the exam bed and making crunching noises as her feet ran along the paper.
She is still at the top of the charts for growth - 80th and 90th percentile in everything.
She is still on track or exceeding her milestones. There wasn't much to discuss since she seems to be ahead of the game. The doctor said she'll just get better with walking/running/climbing and we'll start to see an increase in her verbal skills such as mimicking more and stringing 2 or more words together. Our next check up is when she's 2 years old! It seems so far away but I know it will be here in no time.

Weight: 26.25 pounds - 90th percentile (up 2.75 pounds from 3 months ago at 23.5 lbs!)
Height: 33.25 inches - 90th percentile (up only 0.25 inches from 3 months ago, BUT I think it is because she was very squirmy while being measured, she seems so much taller, OR her clothes are shrinking!)
Head circumference: 47.5 centimeters - 80th percentile (up 0.5 cm from 3 months ago)

Monthly Photo (12 months / 1 year old!)
Wow, Madeleine is 12 months old today!!! We celebrated yesterday with local friends and family, and we celebrated today with a trip to the doctor and 4 shots of immunizations!
Official Stats:
Weight: 22.2 pounds - 80th percentile
Height: 31.25 inches - 99th percentile!
Head circumference: 46 centimeters - 80th percentile
Maddie is the height of an average 16 month old! The doctor was very impressed with her and said she is right on track or even advanced for her age, which of course we knew, but is nice to get professional confirmation.
At the end of the doctors visit Maddie got four shots, 2 in each leg (MMR, Chicken Pox, PCV, and the flu shot) and a finger prick to get her blood count and test for lead. Her counts are fine and negative for lead :)

Monthly Photo (11 Months)
And at the blink of an eye, Madeleine is 11 months old today! Where has the time gone, it seems like just a few days ago we were trying to take her 10 month picture!
Unofficial Stats:
Weight: Around 21 pounds
Height: Around 30 Inches
Maddie crawls like a champ and is so fast. We have finally baby gated the main stairs (and it has become a lot easier to watch her). She has even taken a couple of steps on 2 separate occasions! Despite us trying really hard to get her to take more steps, she prefers to crawl and will sit and crawl towards us rather than walk. She is however getting much better at walking with assistance if we are holding one or both of her hands.
In the past 2-3 weeks she has come to LOVE books and being read to. She will pick up a book and hold it up and loves to hear the same story over again (and gets fussy if you read a book she does not like!). She still loves to eat and meal time has become easier as she is eating more table food. We are even able to go out for a quick lunch or early dinner with her, as long as she is eating, she is content!

Maddie still amazes us each day, she is such a good baby. She is so adorable and good-natured, we can't believe we made her!
It was very difficult taking the monthly picture this month. Again she was very interested in the monthly number sticker, it was darn near impossible to get her to tear her eyes away from playing with the sticker to look up at the camera!

Weight: 20.25 pounds (80th percentile)
Height: 29.0 Inches (93th percentile)
Head circumference: 46.0 centimeters (95th percentile)
She's the picture perfect 9 month old baby - crawling, pulling up, eating solids, has some teeth, and she's babbling (mama and dada sounds).
She only got 2 shots this visit - Hepatitus B and IPV - they were both in the same leg. She cried a bunch when she got them but seemed to be fine when we got home from the doctor's office. We did give her some baby tylenol just in case.
She did not want to cooperate for the monthly picture and instead wanted to eat the sticker!
