Mom and Maddie Weekend (with video)

Joseph was out of town this weekend in Milwaukee for a bachelor party so Maddie and I had the whole weekend together!

On Friday we went to my office. Maddie likes to visit as she gets to pick her own snacks! A vendor was also bringing pizza in so we got pizza for lunch!

We also turned her car seat around and she is now finally forward facing!  She loves it!

She loves facing forward in the car!

Eating 2 bags of snacks she got in the vending machine

Playing with a new toy we brought to my office.

Playing around with my glasses (no lenses)

On Saturday night we went to a pasta restaurant for dinner!  Maddie did pretty well pretty much the entire time. At the end of the meal when the server brought over the check, I happened to sneeze, and Maddie said "Are you alright Mama?  Bless You!" And the server said "Oh she is so polite!"

And afterwards we got frozen yogurt for dessert! Maddie wanted to eat outside so we did.

And here is a little video I took at one of the meals. Maddie sings the ABCs, 2 Daniel Tiger songs (lyrics below) and then proceeds to kiss my arm a bunch.

Daniel Tiger "When you wait, you can play, sing or imagine anything"
Daniel Tiger "It's okay to feel sad sometimes. Little by little you'll feel better again"

Fun at home

Here are some pictures taken this past weekend.

We bought some new slime/putty and Maddie enjoyed playing with it. She also likes to "clean" using the handheld broom and dustpan.

A little while back after Maddie started to watch "Bubble Guppies" I told her I would make her a mermaid tail so she could be like a Bubble Guppie. I asked her what colors and she said black and yellow, and I said "Oh like a bumble bee!"  Here she is hanging out in her bumble bee mermaid tail blanket.

Baby Boy - 32 Week Appointment

This Thursday 7/20, I went to the doctor's for my 32 week checkup. I also had a growth ultrasound and then a Non-Stress Test (NST) where they strap 2 monitors to my tummy to take some measurements.

At the ultrasound, he looked perfectly healthy! He seemed to be sleeping though as he wasn't moving around very much.  They measured him at 4 lbs 9oz which is in the 76th percentile, yikes! And luckily his head is down!

Later I had my first NST which I will also be having weekly. They strapped 2 monitors to me. The one on the bottom (pink) measures the baby's heartbeat. The top one (blue) measures the uterus activity and measures contractions.

Baby boy performed perfectly and we were done in 20 minutes! They are looking for 2 "jumps" or "spikes" in his heart activity, at least a 15-20 bpm jump during a 20 minute period. He "passed" with flying colors.  He actually got the hiccups right as the test was starting and I took a video. You can see my tummy jumping ever so slightly and you can hear the heart beat on the monitor changing because of the hiccups.

(If the baby doesn't perform the way they like, then they'll have me try to get him to move by drinking some juice or laying on my side and measuring again for another 20 minutes or so. If he still doesn't wake up or his heart doesn't act the way they like, then I get sent to the hospital triage unit for further monitoring).

Videos: Maddie Singing 3 different songs

Maddie was in a great mood after dinner and sang a bunch of songs while enjoying cantaloupe for dessert!

In this first video she sings a song from Daniel Tiger. The lyrics are "It's okay to feel sad sometimes, little by little you'll feel better again" and she sings it so clearly!

In this video she sings Twinkle Twinkle and speeds it up at the end

In this last video she sings the ABCs and starts out very slow then speeds up at the end again.
