Week in Tulsa!

We spent the first week in Tulsa to see Grandpa Don and visit with family. We decided to drive as it was a bit last minute to fly, and to see if we could actually do it.  We survived 2 - 12 hour car trips and the week away from home.

Maddie was actually pretty great in the car. As long as we had her nursery rhymes and Sesame Street playing, she was great! She actually did not need that much entertaining as long as her music was on. The struggle was getting her to take a nap in the middle of the day. She normally naps anywhere from 12:30-1:30pm for about 1.5-2.5 hours. She did not take a nap until about 5pm during each leg of the trip, and the naps were only 40 minutes! She also went to sleep for the night very late both days which has resulted in her going to bed a little later than normal each day, and subsequently waking up a little later each day too. Before the trip, her wake up time was about 7-7:30am. Even now after the trip 2 weeks later, her wake up time has been about 7:30-8am! We are not complaining!

We had a great time in Tulsa visiting with the family and we got to see practically everyone!  We also got to see what the city has to offer for an active toddler!  Unfortunately it was brutally hot so we could not venture out to a park like we normally do. We went to the Tulsa Children's Museum with Cousin Kelsey. It was so much fun (and cheap!) and we will definitely be back! We also went to the Tulsa Aquarium with Grandma (that will be a separate blog post) which Maddie also loved. Joseph also took her to a really nice splash pad for some water play!

Maddie loved Grandma's cats and dogs and always wanted to pet, kiss and kick them! She also got to meet Cousin Jordan & Trent's dog Donnie, and the ever lovable Mr. Hankey cat!

Tons of pictures and a video below!  Thanks for a great week everyone!

At a McDonald's Play land during one of our stops on the way down to Tulsa

We made a quick trip to a doctor's office as she was running a fever. She checked out A-Okay!

She loved the ball pit at the Children's Museum, it was her favorite thing there!

Laying down on a padded block, looking at herself in the mirror.

This giant Light Bright was her second favorite thing to do at the Children's Museum!

On her way to the splash pad with Daddy!

Just doing her daily Sudoku

Reading with Aunt Jenny!

The adults were in a very heated political discussion. Maddie just sat down in the middle of it all to read her book.

Wearing low pig tails for the first time. What an adorable look!

She picked up the dogs leash and let Joseph walk her around the house
