A few weeks ago on July 18th we went over to Alan & Emily's for some pool time in the backyard. Maddie had fun in the pool and both older kids Simon and Lillian were great at playing with Maddie. It started to rain so we had to go inside. We hung out inside and Lillian loved holding Maddie!
Maddie has loved standing for as long as we can remember. After she mastered crawling, she started to work on pulling herself up and standing while supported. She even climbs and crawls over things.
This video is from July 26th, Maddie and Joseph are playing and she pushes herself up on him and stands on her own two feet for a second!
On the morning of Tuesday July 28th, I let Maddie hang out in her crib while I brushed my teeth. When I came back, she had pulled herself up to standing in her crib for the first time! Look at this grin!
We lowered her mattress to the lowest setting a few days after this - she still pulls herself up but at least now she can't fall out of the crib (until she learns how to get out of her crib!).
This is the next day July 29th, Maddie pulled herself up on the living room couch for the first time! (She has pulled herself up on the basement couch already).
So proud of herself!
Now she pulls up on anything possible and has started cruising along the furniture
We are so behind on posts! On Monday July 27th, I dropped Maddie off at Pau Pau's on my way to work. Maddie spent the day there, ate some fresh veggies from my Aunt's garden and went to the park.
Later that evening, we had dinner in Chinatown with some extended family, including my cousins Rachel and Nathan who flew in all the way from Hong Kong and London! We haven't seen Rachel in about a year, the last time we saw her was last year and Maddie was still in my belly (I was 7-8 months pregnant). And we hadn't seen Nathan in probably 7 years!
We all caught up at Bak Bak's house before dinner and Rachel & Nathan got to meet and hold Maddie. Afterwards we walked to a Chinese restaurant a couple of blocks away. Almost the entire family from my mom's side was at dinner. We had a huge 10+ course dinner and it was delicious! Maddie tried so many new foods including pork, steamed fish, rice, noodles, lemon and ginger! We gave Maddie a piece of steamed Chinese broccoli, or Gai-lan, and she spent a good part of the evening just chewing on it! It was great to be able to focus on our own meals while Maddie chomped away on the veggie. She was a trooper even though we were up way past her bedtime.
It was great spending an evening with the family!
Sitting in a big spinning thing the park
Enjoying some fresh garden veggies! Cilantro in one hand, and lettuce in the other.
Madeleine is 9 months old!! We had her 9 month old Doctor's appointment today. Official Stats: Weight: 20.25 pounds (80th percentile) Height: 29.0 Inches (93th percentile) Head circumference: 46.0 centimeters (95th percentile) She's the picture perfect 9 month old baby - crawling, pulling up, eating solids, has some teeth, and she's babbling (mama and dada sounds). She only got 2 shots this visit - Hepatitus B and IPV - they were both in the same leg. She cried a bunch when she got them but seemed to be fine when we got home from the doctor's office. We did give her some baby tylenol just in case. She did not want to cooperate for the monthly picture and instead wanted to eat the sticker!
I happened to take this one in the morning on her rocker, this one turned out great!
Maddie's Gung Gung Wilson, Vickie's Dad, came to visit us on July 17th and see Maddie. She took to him right away, giving him hugs and lots of kisses on his nose and lips. It was great to see him and he was surprised at how big she has gotten!
