Little Monster for Julie's Baby Shower

Our good friend Julie is having a baby boy in August! Her nursery theme is "Little Monster" so for her baby shower I crocheted a Little Monster doll in her nursery colors. I love the way it turned out!  I wanted to get a picture of Maddie with it but when I asked her to hold it she kept backing away and saying "no".

Picking Raspberries in the Backyard

Joseph planted a raspberry bush in the backyard when we first moved into the house. It has grown into a huge bush and there are lots of delicious raspberries growing on it this year.  We showed Maddie how to pick the raspberries (only the ripe ones) and of course she already knows how to eat them!  She loves the raspberry bush and wants to eat raspberries whenever we are in the backyard.

Video: Maddie Says Oreo

Maddie had Oreo cookies for the first time today! I split the cookie and gave her the side without the cream. As suspected, she loved it!  Here's a cute video of her eating Oreos and saying "Oreo".

Long Holiday Weekend

Maddie and I spent all weekend alone just the 2 of us as Joseph was in Denver for a bachelor party.  We took it easy as she was a bit sick.  On Saturday we went to a playground she hasn't been to in awhile. She did not want to do anything except walk up and down a steep hill which was fine with me since everything was a bit too advanced for her.

On Sunday we went to Target for some groceries. I let her loose in the toy section and she immediately gravitated towards 2 large Mickey Mouse plush toys.  Mickey sat in the cart next to her as we shopped and when it was time to check out, I persuaded her to leave the Mickey's and we bought a couple of small Care Bears instead. I got her a small Mickey at the second hand store the day after (It is of course washed and in her crib when she sleeps).

We had a great weekend together with lots of fun - and we both survived!

Maddie also learned how to take a selfie (while I told the phone) and she LOVES pushing the white button and taking selfies!  I don't know if it's the photo click sound or the screen flashing but she loves it and bursts out laughing every time she takes a few pictures

Visiting Mom's Office

I took Friday off so I could have a 4 day weekend. I brought Maddie into the office for a little bit so everyone could see her.  The last time I brought her in was last September when she was 10 months old and wow has she changed!  Everyone was amazed at how much she's grown and how smart she is!
