6 Month Well Visit
We went in for Maddie's 6 month well visit this morning!
Official stats:
Weight = 18 pounds 5 ounces (85th percentile)
Height = 28.0" (99th percentile!)
Head circumference = 43.25 cm (80th percentile)
She is still a long and well proportioned baby!
Since her 4 month appointment 2 months ago, she has gained 2 pounds 11 oz, grown 2.0 inches tall, and her head has grown 1.75 cm.
Maddie did great the entire appointment. She did get fussy towards the end as we were waiting for the shots because she was hungry! She was great about letting the nurse measure her and take her vitals. She sat up for the majority of the time with the doctor, and she was so impressed at Maddie's trunk strength. She said most 6 month babies she sees can only sit a few seconds before toppling over - Maddie sat almost the whole time!
She also received her fourth round of immunizations - 2 shots (1 in each leg) and 1 oral vaccine - same as during her 4 month appointment. She didn't take these as well as last time; she cried lots after the shots. We thought a bottle would calm her down, but it didn't. Surprisingly sucking on her pants calmed her down! We did a switcheroo with her jacket so we could put her pants on so she could be decent when leaving the office.
We dropped Maddie off at Pau Pau's house so she could visit with Bak Bak, Uncle Jeff and Grand Uncle John. I took the day off from work so we could run some much needed errands.
Maddie was fine the rest of the day after the vaccines, but we have given her baby Tylenol throughout the day just in case.

Happy Mother's Day!!
Celebrating Mother's Day at Cy's King Crab Oyster Bar & Grill. It was Maddie's first time in a high chair! She was a bit too small for it so we had to stuff a blanket and 2 jackets around her. Later we brought the car seat out and sat her in while with a bottle while we ate.

Busy Weekend! Chicago Fire and Chicago Bulls Games
We had a very busy weekend! Maddie turned 6 months on Saturday! It was also the first day she slept on her belly - twice! Once for naptime and then during the night. For the past few nights, she has been turning and rolling in her sleep multiple times, which has been waking her up and resulting in cranky parents who have to soothe her back to sleep. So we decided to try to keep her on her belly, and it worked! She slept around 4 hours before waking for her overnight feeding.
On Saturday afternoon, we went with Gary and Mayela to watch the Chicago Fire Soccer Team play. It was $2 hot dog day! It was a bit of a dreary day but luckily it did not rain. Maddie did get fussy and I had to find a "quiet" part of the stadium for a quick cat nap. Afterwards she was in good spirits. The Fire lost the match, 2 to 1.
Sunday was Mother's Day (will be a separate post)! We had lunch with Pau Pau and Uncle Jeff, and afterwards we went to the United Center to watch Game 4 of the Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers Playoff game! Joseph warned me it would be loud, and wow was he right! Thankfully we had the baby hearing protectors and Maddie did not seem to notice. Maddie got super fussy towards the end of the third quarter and again I went to find a quiet place for a cat nap. The Bulls tied it up at the end of the game with 1.5 seconds left! Unfortunately Lebron James hit a 2 pointer and the Bulls lost by 2 points! We were 0 for 2 this weekend for watching games.
When we got home, we gave Maddie a quick bath, a large bottle and she quickly fell asleep afterwards. We are hoping for a peaceful night tonight!

Monthly Photo (6 Months)
Maddie is 6 months today! Where has the time gone?
Maddie has her 6 month well visit on Monday so we will have official stats then! My guess based on weighing her at home is about 18.5 pounds and 28.5" long tall.

Can't fit enough in her mouth
Here are some cute pictures of Maddie sucking her thumb, feet, and bottle, sometimes two at the same time!
Maddie Tries Broccoli (with Video)
We gave Maddie broccoli today. We pureed steamed broccoli and it had some more texture than the other foods she has tried. She didn't seem to like it as much as the other foods, we don't know if it was the texture or the taste or both. Hopefully second time is the charm. I really want her to like broccoli!
