Grandma Kathy's 70th Birthday!

This afternoon on our way home from the park, we started to sing "Happy Birthday" to Maddie, and she learned it after about 5 minutes! She started to sing it on her own and sang all 4 verses! We were so very impressed!

On Friday evening, we all headed over to the Polo Grill for Grandma Kathy's 70th Birthday Party!  Aunt Jenny got us a private room so we could be as loud and obnoxious as we wanted to!

Maddie sand "Happy Birthday to Grandma" multiple times and ate probably an entire loaf of bread before our dinners came out.

At the end of the meal, Maddie enjoyed touching all of the wine bottles along the wall.

We had a lovely meal and got to spend good quality time with everyone for her birthday!

Pictures and lots of videos below (videos are dark because the room was really dark).

Tulsa - Fun at the River Park

On Friday early afternoon, we took Maddie over to the River Parks. We tried to get to the Gathering Place but the road was closed so luckily found another park. Maddie loved playing with the sand and sticks! She also loved looking at the river and wanted to get a closer look so Joseph took her as far as they could go.  She absolutely LOVED picking up rocks and throwing them into the water! She did NOT want to leave!

Flight to Tulsa!

We flew to Tulsa last week for Grandma Kathy's 70th birthday!!  We decided to fly after the road trip in the summer (12 hours each way!). We got cheap tickets and since Maddie was still under 2, we did not need to pay for a ticket for her (she would sit in our laps).  We lucked out - the flight was only about 1/3 filled so we were able to stretch out and Maddie got her very own seat!

She loved being at the airport and looking out the window at the airplanes and cars. She did great on the plane ride, especially once she got to watch Winnie the Pooh, Daniel Tiger, and Elmo. And she got a lollipop as well!  She only got fussy during the last 20 minutes or so, we think because her ears were hurting her.

Smile!

I asked her to Smile for the camera!

Fun with Water Beads (with Video)

We have a fun new developmental / sensory toy to play with - Water Beads! They are teeny tiny plastic balls that turn into balls of slippery fun after soaking overnight in a tub of water!

Maddie loved them! She loved moving them from one bowl to the next, and also burying her toys and digging them out.

Video: Playing Make Believe with her Bears

Maddie has started to make believe! She will often pretend to eat or drink something.

The other morning she was playing in her crib and was playing with her bears. I was able to video her pretending to feed her bears and herself lollipops! Then she proclaims "lollipop tastes good!"

And for fun, here are a couple of photos of her being silly in her crib. When she doesn't want to come out, she will lay down and pretend to sleep.

Halloween 2016!

We were so excited to celebrate Halloween this year since Maddie could walk around AND enjoys candy!  Grandma Kathy made her the most adorable Minnie Mouse costume which she loved to wear! She hopped into the wagon and we were off! We stopped by a few businesses for some candy on the way to the 606 Trail.  Maddie was adorable when she said "Trick or Treat" and would very carefully pick out a few pieces of candy.

We then hopped off the trail and headed into the neighborhood where there are a lot of very nice houses. Every time Maddie got a new lollipop she wanted to try it. We opened about 4 different lollipops throughout the night. We neared one very busy street which had some great Halloween decorations, and there were at least 100 people around. It was a bit overwhelming and getting late so we headed home. Suffice it to say, bed time was a struggle but we had a great night!
