Videos: Singing & Counting

After dinner Maddie was in a very good mood! She sang a bunch of songs and even counted to "fifteen"!  She counts up to 12 perfectly and doesn't quite get up to 15 correct (11, 12, 18, 14, 18).

We asked her to sing a song and she started to sing this song we were unfamiliar with. We know the melody but not the words she is singing so we think she learned it at school.

And here she counts to 15. She also can count to 20 but she almost mixes up some numbers between 12 and 20.

Out to Lunch

On Saturday we went to the gym and dropped Maddie off at the day care. Afterwards we got lunch at a gyro place on the way home.

This Week at DayCare - 1/24 & 1/26

Tuesday 1/24/17

Maddie had a couple of potty accidents at school today. But otherwise had a great day!

Thursday 1/26/17.
Miss Brenda said Maddie had a great day today! She went to the potty every time AND she even pooped in the potty!

  At dinner time, I asked Maddie if they made bread today at school. She said "No. Challah!"

Video: Singing the ABCs!

Maddie now knows how the sing the ABC song! I caught her singing it one day as I was getting her from her nap, she was singing it while waiting for me to get her.  While we sing it around the house once n a while, she definitely learned this at school probably during circle time.

She sings it a whopping 3 times in this video! The first time is the best. I have the camera turned to her so she can watch herself sing. She tries to push the red video button (which would stop the recording) which is why I keep moving the phone.

Maddie finished her snack and was being silly and put her plate on her head like a hat.

Thinning Out

Maddie is starting to thin out a little bit! Her face has gotten a little bit skinnier. Her cheeks aren't as chubby and as a result she is looking more like a little girl than a baby.  Her legs (while still chubby) are less chubby and she's losing the little indentation she had in them.  Here are some pictures of her long skinnier legs.

Playing with Fluff

We have bits of polyfill all over the house because we used it to protect some Christmas decorations. We call it "Fluff" because Winnie the Pooh is "stuffed with fluff" and Maddie loves seeing little bits of it.  Maddie likes to gather it and lay on top of it and "swim" in it. 

This week at Daycare - 1/19

We kept Maddie at home on Tuesday as she was getting over her cold, so she just went into school on Thursday.

They are using a new app called Brightwheel so now we are able to get daily updates and photos!

Home Sick

Maddie got sick over the weekend :(  We noticed it Saturday and Sunday, she had a cough and a snotty runny nose.  It was the worst on Monday but she got a bit better on Tuesday. We decided to keep her home on Tuesday rather than send her to day care. 

I took Maddie to the basement to feed the cats and she started playing with one of their toys. She really wanted to get the balls out and got upset when she couldn't!

Later that morning she played very well independently. She stacked blocks and played with yarn. She then started playing with her toy utensils. I sat down to take a picture of her and Joseph "snuck up" behind me to tickle me. She smiles and laughs whenever he does that. Later she said "tickle Maddie" so Joseph went to tickle her.

She was in much better spirits today (Wednesday). She told Joseph "Maddie feel better" this morning!  

Sunday Shopping!

On Sunday Maddie was in good spirits and I had to run a few errands so we went shopping!  We made sure to use the potty first! First we went to Joann Fabrics to get some yarn so I could make a friend a baby blanket. Maddie was great the whole time and wanted to hold flowers, yarn, etc.

Then we went to Strack & Van Til (a grocery store). They had the cutest grocery carts with a little plastic car on the front for kids to ride in! Maddie sat in the front almost the entire grocery trip, but then wanted to sit in the cart.

After unloading the groceries, I realized it had been a while since Maddie used the restroom so asked if she could hold it until we got home, or if we should go back into the store to potty. She said "back in store potty" so I quickly ran her inside and she used the big person potty.

It still wasn't too late and she was still in a great mood so I pushed my luck and asked if she wanted to go to another store and of course she said yes! So we went to the Dollar Tree just to look around (these 3 stores are in the same strip mall so we walked to all 3 of them after parking the car). We grabbed a few things and I realize I probably needed 1 more thing of yarn, so we went back to Joann's.  Maddie was so happy to go to FOUR stores!  Four is her favorite number!

I did not grab a shopping cart and instead Maddie ran around. She got side tracked by all of the BEADS!  Maddie loves her bead necklaces at home. She touched practically every strand of bead and would not leave the aisle until I bribed her with some TV when we got home.

We had a lovely afternoon shopping!

Playing with Winnie the Pooh

Maddie was laying on her green chair eating an apple and we put the Winnie the Pooh record on. When they start to sing "Winnie the Pooh" Maddie will point rhythmically at Pooh Bear. I put the big Pooh bear on top of her and she thought it was so funny!

This week at Daycare - 1/10 & 1/12

Maddie got 3 new classmates this week!

She also napped pretty well this week which is great!

Video: Singing Songs

Here is a cute video of Maddie singing some songs she knows. I turned the camera around so she is looking at herself as she sings.

The first song she sings is "Rockabye Baby" then she sings "Winnie the Pooh" and then "Wheels on the Bus."  She stops singing after just the first line of the first two songs but then perks up for Wheels on the Bus.

Playing with Yarn

After nap time (well, she did not nap today) Maddie ran into our bedroom. She loves laying on our bed. I pulled out my bag of yarn scraps and Maddie loved it!  Here are some adorable videos of her playing.

Saturday at Kid City

I took Maddie to Kid City on Saturday as they had open play available (they are often closed for birthday parties).  Maddie enjoyed herself. She loved the little house and playing in the grocery store. This time we also went to the back corner and got to read some new books!
