December Fun

Maddie had this week off from school so we did lots of fun things around the house because it was so cold out! We also ventured out a few times so she didn't get too stir crazy!

Some Fun at home!

On Saturday, I took Maddie to Peggy Notebaert Museum over in Lincoln Park. It was our first time there (I checked out a free museum pass at the library). It was terribly cold that day but luckily we parked in the lot across the street and ran across the street into the museum!  The museum was lovely! They had a water area where kids could learn about water ways. They had a small reptile/bug area and also a butterfly room upstairs!They had a few other rooms too. I did not know we could bring our own lunch, so we had to leave a little earlier than anticipated so Maddie could eat lunch. Next time we will pack a lunch so we can spend more time there!

Christmas Dinner 2017

For Christmas dinner, we headed to Chinatown to spend the evening with my extended family! My cousin who moved to Hong Kong was back for the holidays with her husband. There are a total of 8 grandchildren of my generation on my mom's side, and we had 6 of the 8 of us under one roof! The other 2 are overseas.

Maddie had a lot of fun playing with her cousin Emilie, and everyone loved watching and holding James. We had a yummy Christmas dinner, followed by gifts for the kids.

Christmas Morning 2017

Merry Christmas!!! Maddie was SO excited this morning! For the past couple of weeks we have been talking about Christmas. We told her that on Christmas morning, there would be lots of presents underneath the tree for her to open!  She had the best time opening up presents and even helping James open his presents. We ended the morning by relaxing with some cartoons!

 

Maddie was SO excited to receive this Raven plush doll. She gave it the sweetest hugs and kisses!
