On Saturday I took Maddie for her very first dental appointment! We should have taken her much earlier but better late than never! We made sure to let her know what was going to happen and watched a video of a kids dentist appointment.
The dentist was in the neighborhood so we took the stroller there as we planned to get lunch at a nearby pasta place. Maddie got to play a little bit before her appointment. She got to sit in a big dental chair and pick a show to watch on the television monitor! She picked My Little Pony. The technician was warm and friendly. She counted Maddie's teeth and gave her a cleaning. Then the dentist came and did another check of Maddie's teeth. Then Maddie got a fluoride treatment. She did great the entire time! The technician commented on how well she was doing for her very first visit. And best of all, no cavities! They did say she has a couple of "trouble" areas that we need to make sure we brush extra well, and that we should start to floss.
Maddie got a little token so she could pick out a trinket from the "bubble gum" type machines in the lobby and she got a little bouncy ball. We then went over to the Pasta Bowl for lunch!
